The Belgian Masters XXX had transformed to an XXXL edition this year. There were multiple events per day with most of them offering 1 or more spots to compete in the invitational on Sunday. I had a bought a bunch of casters to the event, of which I was planning of maining my Skarre 1 in DH, paired with whatever tickled my fancy.

Total sell-out
I really needed to rack up some wins if I wanted to get into a WTC team, so this time I approached the tournament in a different way. I took 1 safe list, that I knew was powerful and for which I had a good idea of its good matchups, and take 1 list that I was interested in trying out. The theory being that I could drop the latter when I felt comfortable to do so, or I was already losing too much anyway. In practice however, this just meant that I played the former all day...
4 rounds of jank
I've had another tournament, a 2-day event. Unfortunately, due to a conflict in scheduling, I couldn't attend the final round on the second day. No biggy, I'll just take whichever lists I feel like and grind out some games. As I've now played Denny 3 a bunch of times, I did want to explore Asphyxious 3 a bit more, so needed a new pair for him.
Of pigeons and pirates (feat. Hellbringer and Helljacks)
Introduction Played in a Steamroller on Sunday and decided to take the Deneghra 3 list for another spin. I paired it with Asphyxious 3 because I feel that, in the current meta, the only things that really grind through Ghost Fleet are Wurmwood and Retribution (read: Tridents) In the end, the latter was mostly a … Continue reading Of pigeons and pirates (feat. Paris Masters
The Paris Masters were last weekend and I jumped at the opportunity to pump out a bunch of games (6) over the weekend. The event required fully painted lists, so I took my WTC lists for one last spin before they will retire, at least for a while.
WTC 2019
So the event of the year has come and gone. I'm honestly quite pleased with how I did this year, getting an adequate 4-2 personal record and delivering my team to the best result our country has ever achieved!
…and make it double
As was foretold, here is the second installment of my experiences this past weekend. This was a 12-player Steamroller with 4 rounds.
Prepare for trouble…
I know it's been quiet for a while, but I promise to make it up to you. Because this week, I don't have one, but two event reports for you. I had 2 Steamrollers planned for last weekend, so I will spread those out over 2 posts of which this one is the first.
All work and no play (almost)
I was hosting a tournament of my own over the weekend. We were an even number, so I didn't want to create byes by adding myself to the roster. Not to mention that it's actually a lot less stressful to organize an event when you're not playing in it.
Guildmachine Warball
Last weekend saw a delegation of my WTC team going to a relatively small (new) convention in Germany. The War Room update dropped on Friday, so all the events on Saturday and Sunday were going to be with the new rules and themes; excellent WTC practice.
